CO-FOUNDER & CEO

Melanie Allen

Melanie’s mom literally picked her name out of a hat. This origin story somehow perfectly captures her approach to business: sometimes the best decisions come from a mix of intuition, chance, and trust in the process.

Melanie co-founded Green Loop to solve a problem she'd witnessed too many times—the disconnect between agency business development teams and the marketers actually doing the work. She was determined to create transparency and connection between these "departments," believing this integration would lead to better work and happier teams. Plus, having survived a boss from hell in her late twenties, she knew exactly what kind of leader she didn't want to become—and chose to do the complete opposite.

While Melanie admits she hates bragging about her strengths (classic CEO move), her approach speaks for itself. She lives for "go the extra mile" moments that go far beyond typical client service. During one Zoom call, when a client's husband interrupted to report a basement leak, Melanie had her plumber friend at their house within the hour. It's this instinct to genuinely care and solve problems—any problems—that sets her apart. Well, that and delivering spot-on celebrity impressions at karaoke nights that leave crowds wondering what other hidden talents their CEO is keeping under wraps.

Her real-world impact extends well beyond emergency plumbing assistance. As Board Chair of Pattern, Committee Chair for both the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Swimming Trials, and recognized as both a 2024 Maven to Know for Indy Maven and member of IBJ's Forty Under 40 class, Melanie consistently champions initiatives that strengthen Indiana's creative and business communities.

Melanie's marketing philosophy is beautifully straightforward: "I will talk to ANYONE about marketing. If we can't help you, I'll find someone who can." This generous approach to business development reflects her belief in lifting up the entire industry. Oh, and she has strong opinions about CTAs—"Check it out!" will never be acceptable on her watch.
